A little history...
Howard W. Sams Company was started in 1946 with 12 employees to service the needs of consumer electronics repair professionals. The company produced technical information on thousands of domestic and foreign consumer electronic items sold in the USA and abroad. The prosperous post-WW II economy of the late 40's, 50's and 60's coupled with the growing public market for televisions, radios, phonographs, tape recorders, etc. produced a need for accurate repair information for these products. SAMS Photofact sets filled this market with accurate circuit diagrams, parts lists, operating parameters, mechanical breakdowns and high-quality photographs of circuit assemblies, component location, and adjustment and tuning procedures. SAMS became the "Gold Standard" of consumer electronics service information for repair technicians across the country in the four decades following WW II.
